About TRB
[How TRB was made] [TRB History] [TRB F.A.Q.s] |

So what's TRB all about? In a nutshell: reviewing ZX Spectrum games. The reviews are written as magazines of the day would, describing the game as well as offering my opinion, links and pictures. As well as the 'good' games reviews [cunningly housed in the Games Reviews section] and my Top 100 greatest Spectrum games listing, there are reviews of what I consider to be crap Speccy games. They are listed in the Awards section. There, the crap games are organised by categories whose descriptions befit a fictional award ceremony. In addition to all that, there are all kinds of articles which don't quite fit into the 'normal' reviews sections. These are housed in the Misc section. For example, there's a look at the main UK news-stand Spectrum magazines, unusual charts, how I built the site (amongst other articles). The site hasn't been optimised to run on Internet Explorer; I've tried to built a standards-compliant website. There aren't any Spectrum game images (or ROMs) here either. If you want any, then the World of Spectrum houses the largest collection of legal, freely distributed images. What's the point in trying to compete or duplicate that? The site doesn't have a forum. This is intentional. There is a lively and good natured Spectrum-related board on the World of Spectrum and a multi-format version hosted by Retro-Gamer, both of which get much more traffic than TRB ever could, so as above, what's the point in trying to compete or duplicate that? As I wrote on the front page; enjoy the site. |
